A Web of News
I admit it–I’m a news junkie. I can’t imagine how I would have fed this hunger if I had lived in an earlier time, a time before 24-hour cable news and a time before AI web bots like Google News.
And the neat thing about news in this post-Internet age is that you can get […]
Please run, Arnold
Dammit, it’s looking as though Arnold Schwarzenegger will not run in the recall election. Which is a shame–I’m not a fan of this recall mess but if Davis does end up losing we might as well get somebody decent to replace him.
Not somebody like that creep Issa, who financed the whole recall […]
Dissin’ Dean
I love being a Democrat, because we eat our own. I mean look at how the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) is tearing into Howard Dean. They’re calling him a leftist and a McGovern democrat and just one step shy of being a pinko commie.
What’s amazing to me is that for some folks, Dean […]
Let the mudslinging begin
You knew that with such an abbreviated campaign schedule, the recall election would have to get down-n-dirty very fast. The mudslinging has begun–Davis’ folks are calling Issa anti-gay. This particular charge is actually accurate–Issa definitely has campaigned vigorously for (and funded generously) various anti-gay initiatives like the one to prevent gay marriages.
Still, even […]
I just posted my review of the new Tomb Raider movie. Now the surprising thing to me is that the showing I went to was packed and yet it was only the fourth-ranked movie this weekend. I think it’s gonna be a bit of a bomb–based on this opening weeked I’d be surprised […]
I’m not quite sure what to make of this recall election.
On the one hand I’m definitely not a fan of Governor Davis. I think at the very least he mislead if not outright lied to us during the last election. I think he knew about the impending deficit when he was […]
It just looks a bit unseemly to me when the President of the United States is celebrating the deaths of Saddam’s oldest sons. Yes I know the two men were brutal beyond description, killing friend and foe alike. But it just doesn’t seem very, well, Christian to be celebrating anyone’s death.
What about the […]
I’ve had my iPod for about a month now and I’m beginning to think it really might change the way we listen to music. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not turning into one of those fanatics who thinks iPod is the greatest thing since God invented Reese’s peanut-butter cups. But what I’m […]
So today I stayed home from work. Woke up feeling under the weather, and even an extra couple hours in bed did nothing to help. So I e-mailed the team at work and gave them the bad news.
Actually, I’m sure it’s good for some. I don’t always seem to be able to […]
Yesterday I went to the Forest Renaissance Faire held in Marin county. Went with three friends, who are all into the Society for Creative Anachronism. So a couple of them were in period garb, which was unfortunately kinda warm clothing given the equally warm weather. Still, everyone drank plenty of water and […]
