A Web of News

July 31, 2003

I admit it–I’m a news junkie. I can’t imagine how I would have fed this hunger if I had lived in an earlier time, a time before 24-hour cable news and a time before AI web bots like Google News.

And the neat thing about news in this post-Internet age is that you can get all sorts of news from all sorts of places. For example, did you know there’s a water shortage out in Melbourne, Australia? Or that the government in the Philippines is still trying to unlock hundreds of millions of dollars that used to belong to the dictator Ferdinand Marcos? Or that some lunatic just completed a skydive across the English Channel?

Oh well, enough wasting time. Back to work for this poor little wage slave.
