I hate my job
August 3, 2003Okay, it’s not exactly a unique complaint these days but I really am beginning to hate my job. Most of my co-workers are great people, it’s the pointy-haired management I could do without.
Our company has been shrinking, like a lot of places, and the layoffs have hit even management. So our managers are now more interested in jockeying to protect themselves than in doing anything that helps us worked bees.
As an added bonus, our CIO has major anger management issues–he has basically yelled at just about everyone, enough that HR has actually been involved on several occasions. Luckily I don’t work directly for him but unluckily, he can be a real micro-manager so that you often do interact with him directly. It’s not a fun thing, knowing that his temper could fire off at any time.
Sigh. Oh well, it’s a job. You don’t have to like it I guess.
