Farewell Netware

Along with the announcement that they’ve purchased a Linux company, Novell has started publicly saying that they’re gonna be ending Netware development.

I know I’m an old fart, but I remember when Netware mattered. It’ll be sad to see it go, even though really I haven’t used Netware or worked at a company that uses Netware for many many years. Windows NT and Active Directory have pretty much taken over that market.

So now Novell will try re-shaping themselves as a Linux software company. I wish them luck, they’re gonna need it.
