A Mere 135
August 14, 2003Well thank goodness-the number of candidates on the recall ballot has been whittled down to just 135. Seems not all of the 240 or so who originally signed up did their paperwork correctly. Either they had missing forms, or they didn’t have enough valid voter signatures (you needed just 65). Or their check to pay the $3,500 filing fee bounced.
Unfortunately, that still means there’s 135 to wade thru. The ballot is gonna be three or four sheets long, for those of us who live in counties where they’ll be using the punch cards. Even in the counties with electronic ballots, it’s several pages of candidates you’ll have to scroll thru.
Here’s a final list of candidates on the ballot. Including Gary Coleman, who’s being sponsored to run by an East Bay newspaper. Though in an interview Gary said he’s now gonna stop campaigning and vote for Arnold.
