Explosions rock Emeryville
August 28, 2003Yikes, I live just a half-mile from Chiron, which got bombed this morning. No official claim of responsibility but one possibility is eco-terrorists of some kind. Chiron is a pharmaceutical firm and probably does animal research as part of its daily business. Though I don’t know if they do that kind of research here at the Emeryville facility.
These eco-terrorists have been busy little beavers of late here in California–some of them recently attacked several SUV dealers. While I’m no fan of gas-guzzling SUV’s or of animal testing, it’s really up to us as consumers to decide what products we want to buy. It should not be up to a few fringe terrorists to make that decision for us.
