Peach-colored money?

September 9, 2003

Oh great, the Treasury has re-designed the $20 bill yet again. This time the big feature is a lovely gradient peach background. Clearly the people at Treasure have no sense of style–I don’t think peach and green go together very well.

I wonder if this is gonna cause BART problems? Last time they updated the bills, the ticket machines at BART weren’t updated right away to handle the new bills. It was a major pain for many commuters, until BART finally got all their machines upgraded to work with the new bills.

I know we have to fight counterfeiting but can’t they do one big re-design every ten or fifteen years, instead of the steady trickle of re-designs they’ve been pumping out the past few years?
