God I miss broadband
September 10, 2003Since I’m selling my condo I put all my things into storage and moved into the Extended Stay America across the street. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a broadband connection to the rooms so I have to dial in thru my AOL account. And boy is it tedious.
I had completely forgotten what dial-up is like. I’ve been spoiled with my DSL at home (not to mention the T3 connection we have here at work). To make matters worse, the AOL for OS X client seems kinda unstable–it has just mysteriously crashed on me several times. On top of that all, I think something’s wrong with the phone lines at the Extended Stay–when I use the dial-up from other locations in Emeryville I’ve been able to get close to a 50k connection but at Extended Stay I’m only getting a 26k connection.
I want my broadband back! WAAAAAHHHHH!.
