Roadtrip Day 1: Mojave/Flagstaff
October 5, 2003So my relocation trip to Louisville has finally begun. Today was the longest, I was on the road from 4 a.m. until around 6 p.m. and covered 803 miles.
One of the reasons it took me that long to go 803 miles was that I did a quick sidetrip through the Mojave desert:
But it was worth the effort. The desert is so beautiful and empty. Of course I’m sure if I hadn’t been driving in a nice air-conditioned vehicle it would have been awful–the radio station I picked up said that today was the first day in a long while that the temperature was not going to top 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Yikes.
So tonight I’m spending in Flagstaff, AZ at a Motel 6. Ate dinner at a cafe across the street where the decore was a bunch of model railroad trains running thru the restaurant. Wacky.
