Living in the Eastern time zone
October 14, 2003Okay, now that I’ve been in Louisville for a few days I remember the worst part about living in the Eastern time zone–everything starts so much later than it’s supposed to.
Like Monday Night Football doesn’t get started until 9 p.m. Meaning games aren’t over until midnight. Luckily, I’m also getting in to work later so I can stay up to finish the game and then sleep in a bit the next morning. But still, it’s painful that stuff starts that late.
And what about the stock market. I’m used to getting in to work and being able to check the early activity in the market. But now, when I get in to work the markets are still closed for an hour or more. Annoying to come in, check my stocks, and then realize it’s yesterday’s activity that I’m looking at.
And lord I’m not looking forward to the Academy Awards. That sucker is gonna run well past midnight out here in the East. Sigh.
