Male cheerleaders coming to the Warriors
October 28, 2003Okay, now I’m definitely glad I moved from California–the pitiful Golden State Warriors are going to give male cheerleaders a try. Now I’m not opposed, it’s just that they’re intentionally going for the joke by recruiting stereotypical overweight couch-potato types to be in the squad.
I think that’s a nasty jab at the current cheerleaders, who’ve had to work pretty damn hard to get their gig and don’t even get paid that much to boot. THen along comes these tubby guys in blue jeans to steal the half-time spotlight.
I know the Warriors need something to help attendance, but maybe what they need to do is focus on making a better basketball team and not spend so much effort trying to find half-time entertainment.
