Lovin’ Lowe’s
December 8, 2003So I closed on my first real home Friday. I owned a condo in the Bay Area but that doesn’t count, this here is my first single-family real-live home with a yard. But what I’ve come to realize is that it’s basically a scam to make me spend as much money as possible at the Lowe’s.
Strangely there’s way more Home Depots around here than Lowe’s, but I like the stuff better at Lowe’s. Got me a nice closet system, which I’m in the middle of installing. Should have it ready to go before my household stuff arrives from California, where its been in storage.
Also got a battery-powered drill/circular saw/flashlight kit, really nice one, for under $100. I’ve put that to good use already, the drill is great for the yard lights–I had to replace a bunch of bulbs and it would have taken forever to manually un-screw and then screw back in all the little bases where the bulbs are.
Home ownership is all about getting cool gadgets. Can’t wait until sprinig–I’ve got my eye on a nice battery powered lawn mower.
