The Denon NS-S100 Home Media Server
January 14, 2004Sigh, yet another hyper-expensive gizmo that I want but can’t afford. Saw it on Tech TV last night–the Denon NS-S100 media server.
The thing looks so cool–it can serve up different media to different monitors throughout your house, and the best part is that each monitor can behave differently. For example, on the kitchen monitor you might pause the TV while you go get something out of the pantry, kindof a Tivo-type thing, while in the living room your partner watches the same program live. I just love gadgets that think about how somebody is going to want to use them, and this kind of detail where each monitor attached to the server can behave totally indepedent is a great feature.
But the catch of course is the price–under $5,000 but that’s I believe only for the server box. The monitors in each room are not part of that package price. Sigh.
