Sir Bill Gates?

January 26, 2004

Well, he won’t officially be able to call himself “Sir” but Bill Gates is set to receive an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II. Oddly enough, a number of British government agencies are experimenting with open source software to replace Microsoft products.

Well, those experiments probably won’t slow the inexorable march towards Microsoft’s ultimate global domination. Though I am happy to say that my home is now MS free–all my PC’s and laptops at home are running either OS X or Mandrake Linux. But at work I continue to use Microsoft software so I can’t claim to be a totalle MS-free zone.

Still, it’s a start I suppose.
