Spirited Away

Grade: ANow that I’ve seen it, I’m disappointed that I waited so long to see the anime film Spirited Away. I’ve had the DVD for quite some time, but only got around to popping it into the player and watching it Friday night. In a word, marvelous.
Chihiro is a bratty little girl whose parents […]

Troy

Grade: BMostly I went to this flick as an excuse to go to the Tinseltown theater, where they have a little arcade with my favorite game–Virtua Tennis. I usually play as Jim Courier or Tim Henman.
Anyway, back to the movie–Troy is a compressed version of the Iliad, the story of how a prince of Troy […]

One Terabyte was a bug

Darn, the one terabyte that GMail was offering some people is apparently just a bug in their system. It’s not a real offer.
Oh well, it was kinda exciting for a while. I thought I had a terabyte of online storage. A gigabyte now seems kinda small

A terabyte of email storage?

Certain people in the beta of Google’s GMail service are getting one terabyte of storage in their accounts. That’s a million megabytes, or a thousand gigabytes.
Of course I can’t imagine anybody is anywhere close to that limit so who knows if it’s real of just a marketing number. Hard drives are cheap but […]

Mystic River

Grade: AI didn’t even intend on seeing this movie, but I’m definitely glad I did. I went to the cheap theater here in Louisville, the Village 8, not really certain if they were playing anything I’d want to see. I was tempted to go see Return of the King again, but that’s coming out on […]

Hulk

Grade: C+Just got around to seeing this, on DVD, and it’s a tough one to grade. I was tempted to give it a B- but decided in the end that it doesn’t really deserve quite that good a grade. Because to me a B of any kind indicates something that’s solidly above average and this […]

New Blogger

Ooh, they’ve updated the Blogger interface today–new UI for the main Dashboard, a bunch of new templates, and a new Comments feature. I’m digging these new gizmos.

Van Helsing

Grade: DUntil now, there had been only one movie where I seriously contemplated walking out after the first five minutes–Last Action Hero. Finally a second movie has earned that dishonor–the mess called Van Helsing. The only reason Van Helsing didn’t get an F was because some, and I mean only some, of the special effects […]

A New Home

I’ve moved my blog over to a new home. It’s now hosted at 1and1.com. They’re a lot cheaper than my previous host, and offer more in the basic package. More for less, that’s always a good thing.
Though I will say the transfer process wasn’t totally smooth. My previous domain and hosting […]
