Will Olympic’s ratings suck?
July 23, 2004It’s of course way early but it’s a fun game to speculate how the Olympics coverage will do next month. The recent US Olympic trials, many held in prime time, did pretty poorly for NBC. Of course the actual Olympics are bound to rate higher than the trials, still it may show a general lack of interest in the Athens Games.
I’m probably not gonna watch that much myself, only because I know it will be full of those tiresome profiles in courage and crap like that. I’m here to watch sports dammit, not warm-and-fuzzy tales about an athletes struggle to beat asthma or whatever.
I will watch some though, not least to see whether Athens is really ready for the games. So much construction on so many of venues is going down to the wire.
