Why is Matt Damon making better movies than Ben Affleck?
October 29, 2004I just saw The Bourne Supremacy tonight at the dollar theater, and I enjoyed it a lot. Great spy/action thriller, a worthy follow-up to the first Bourne movie. And it got me thinking–why is it that Matt Damon is making some good movies, while his best buddy Ben Affleck makes dreck like Gigli?
Sure Damon’s been in his share of stinkers, Stuck on You comes to mind. But whereas Ben Affleck has done nothing but stinkers since Good Will Hunting, Damon has had a fair share of good films in that period. He’s just making better choices, it seems.
Including keeping his love life off the front pages–no Bennifer crap for Matt. I’m thinking maybe Matt Damon really was the smart half of that team.
