Gave out 5 bags of candy tonight
October 31, 2004I’m glad I had as much candy as I did–there were a lot of kids that came by. Now I think next year though I won’t go with the little bite-size chocolates. Because you end up feeling like you should give the kids four or five pieces anyway because they’re so small. Might as well simply go with a larger candy and give everyone a single piece instead.
Some of the kids were getting I think a little old to be doing this–several clearly mid teens, like 14 or maybe even 15. And some people didn’t put much effort at all into the costumes. But at least they were happy to admit it when you challenged them on it.
Well, this was much nicer than when I was living in Emeryville–nobody went around trick-or-treating in my condo building. There probably weren’t any kids in the building–it was mostly singles or childless couples as I recall.
