Ah, iTunes does have a way to get at recent rips
I guess my diatribe yesterday about iTunes was premature–there is in fact a way to get a smart playlist that displays the most recently ripped music. It’s not obvious though–you have to edit one of the existing smart playlists, in essence take it over and replace it with your own custom smart list.
Still not […]
What iTunes is missing
I’ve been a fan of iTunes for quite a while, especially since I got an iPod last year. Haven’t had any complaints–it’s definitely the best of the audio apps on the market. But I just realized tonight that there’s one feature it’s missing–a “recently ripped” list.
Here’s the scenario–I’ve spent the past hour ripping a […]
Pixar does it again
Managed to go see the Incredibles while I was in Indianapolis (the Circle Center downtown has a multiplex squeezed into the building, but the theaters are really small). I’ve been waiting because I didn’t want to see it with a huge crowd of kids, I’m just a grumpy old man.
So anyway, I really loved […]
Once more unto the Best Buy
Oh my God, I don’t think I’m ever going to do the Best Buy After Thanksgiving sale ever again. Of course I say that now but if the deals are as good next year I’m probably still going to be there.
So anyway, this year I was in Indianapolis (The Radisson had a good deal on […]
Tackiest Christmas gift ever
I’m taking a non-vacation vacation this week, time off from work but staying at home. Gotta get my vacation hours under 40, to qualify for the bonus week next year.
So anyway, I was spending my time cleaning out the junk that was filling the spare bedroom. I’ve got a couple boxes worth of crap that’s […]
Indecision over
Well, I was at hhgregg this weekend and they had the Sony PSC-93A for $260. That’s the cheapest I’d seen anywhere, and a damned good price for a 5 megapixel camera. So I’ve jumped off the fence and bought it.
I’ll be posting some photos from it soon. They are pretty awesome, though […]
Paralyzed with indecision on a new digital camera
So this Christmas I’m flying to Paris for a week and I don’t want to drag my big, ugly, ancient, 2 mega-pixel digital camera. I want something new, sleek, and higher resolution. The problem is that there are a ton of cameras in my price-range ($300) with good resolution (at least 4 mega-pixels). […]
New Eminem is disappointing
I bought the new Eminem CD, Encore, this weekend at Circuit City. After listening to it a couple times I think I’m gonna have to give it a thumbs down.
There’s no question that the raps are more complex than what he’s done before, there’s real growth in that sense. Yet his anger is […]
Serena loses to Sharapova
Kindof a bummer last night–Serena Williams was battling back against Sharapova but lost in three sets. She apparently injured her abdomen late in the second set, and that of course affected her serve. Instead of the usual 100 mph-plus bombs she was throwing in 70 mph whiffle balls in the third set. […]
Gonna be up late tonight watching tennis
I’m not sure why, but I’m a huge tennis fan. Even though, as with all sports, I suck at the game. But I just like the one-on-one competition, it’s like boxing without the violence. So I’m definitely going to be up late tonight watching the WTA championship between Serena Williams and Maria […]
