Paralyzed with indecision on a new digital camera
November 18, 2004So this Christmas I’m flying to Paris for a week and I don’t want to drag my big, ugly, ancient, 2 mega-pixel digital camera. I want something new, sleek, and higher resolution. The problem is that there are a ton of cameras in my price-range ($300) with good resolution (at least 4 mega-pixels).
And they all have good points–I’ve looked at the Kodak EasyShare LS753 and the cheaper somehwat bulkier cousin, the EasyShare CX7530. Liked both of those, the CX model is a pretty good bargin but the LS is much sexier.
Also looked at the Sony CyberShot DSC-P93 and the Olympus C-765. My current camera is an older Olympus, and what I like about these models is they have much bigger optical zoom than the others–everything else has a 3x optical but the C-765 has an 8x optical zoom. The CyberShot I liked because it’s small, like the Kodak LS753, and there is an available underwater case that converts the camera for use while scuba diving.
Sigh. I just have to make a decision soon and pull the trigger. Especially if I’m gonna order it online–need to place that order within the next week or two to make sure I get it before I leave on the trip.
