What iTunes is missing
November 28, 2004I’ve been a fan of iTunes for quite a while, especially since I got an iPod last year. Haven’t had any complaints–it’s definitely the best of the audio apps on the market. But I just realized tonight that there’s one feature it’s missing–a “recently ripped” list.
Here’s the scenario–I’ve spent the past hour ripping a bunch of CD’s into iTunes, and then syncing them into the iPod. Now the problem is, I cannot easily locate the albums I just ripped into my library. I’ve got thousands of songs, by hundreds of artists, so it’s impossible to just scroll and locate the ten or so that I imported tonight.
As far as I can tell, the only way is for me to just remember which artists and albums I just ripped, so I can locate them later in the library to rate the songs or do whatever other maintenance I have to do. It seems to me that a “recently ripped” list, similar to iPhoto’s “recently downloaded” list, would be helpful.
Say, everything ripped within the last 24 hours would show up in its own special playlist. Just like the Top Rated show up automagically into their own playlist.
