Best quesadilla ever
January 19, 2005Had lunch yesterday at El Nopal, a Mexican restaurant I’ve never been to before. It’s in a weird location–behind a now-defunct K-Mart shopping center. But it was the best quesadilla I’ve ever had.
We’re not talking those wimpy skimpy little quesadillas you get at Taco Hell. No, this was a real meal–big helping of chicken and cheese wedged into a tortilla and then the whole thing is grilled briefly to crisp the shell. Probably as much chicken in this one quesadilla as you’d get in a dozen of the Taco Hell quesadillas.
And the rice was actually good–I tend to not like the rice at Mexican restaurants but here it was muy bueno. Highly recommended, and reasonably priced. My platter was just $4.75, though drink is not included at that price.
