Wesley Snipes better have other options
January 21, 2005Just saw Blade: Trinity tonight at the dollar theater (well, actually the $3 theater). Boy I hope Wesley Snipes has other career options besides trying to make a fourth Blade flick. Because this one was just awful.
The series has followed the traditional arc of most sequels–the first movie was good, the second was okay, this third one is crap. The story is so similar to the second one–a team of vampire hunters led by Blade takes on a super-vampire.
And good Lord that Ryan Reynolds guys can be super annoying. He plays a former vampire who helps Blade, and he does voice-overs during the intro and ending to the flick. He’s annoying on-screen because his character just makes stupid inappropriate jokes at all times, and he’s annoying in the voice-overs because he just doesn’t have a distinct and deep enough voice to be the voice-over guy.
I own the DVD’s of the first two Blades, but I think I’ll skip this one unless I find it really cheap.
