Cylon technology invades our building
January 26, 2005So at the place I work they installed a nice new wireless network a few weeks ago. I just noticed the little 3Com access point that was slapped onto the ceiling in our main lobby.
Nerd that I am, the first thing I thought of when I saw it there was Battlestar Galactica. It’s kindof hard to tell from the product photo, but when the thing is installed flat on the ceiling it reminded me of the piece of Cylon technology that was removed from the bridge of Galactica. Remember, during the mini-series when Baltar was on the bridge and his Cylon girlfriend pointed out the gizmo that had been installed right above the central podium.
I’m such a loser. I need to get out more, stop watching so much damned sci-fi on television.
