Slept all day long
I got up this morning and felt horrible. Stuffy and a headache and sneezing. The sneezing part started last night.
But I figured maybe once I got underway I’d feel better. I shaved and showered, and actually made it all the way to work. Where I continued to feel horrible, so I […]
The omnipresent Beyonce
I was watching the Oscar’s last night, what the hell is up with Beyonce? She sang, solo or duet, three of the nominated songs. Were there no other female singers available last night? Does she have some kind of exclusive contract?
I thought the weirdest one was the French song she did. […]
Odd shoeless dream last night
Had a weird dream last night. I was taking the bus home, which I never do here in Louisville. I used to in San Francisco but not out here, service is much less frequent and even less reliable than Muni was.
Anyway, so in this dream I’m riding the bus and it is apparently […]
Too much consumer goodness
I went to see the new Wal-Mart Supercenter last night, and this thing is kinda frightening. It’s right next to the defunct Bashford Manor Mall, apparently now that the Wal-Mart is in place they’ll be doing some renovations to demolish part of the mall and turn it into a strip center.
Anyway, this thing is […]
Should I do a work-related blog?
So my boss has asked that I consider doing a work-related blog. I do mostly front-end HTML/JSP/JavaScript hacking and whenever I find something interesting I try to pass it along. He thinks that kind of stuff is tailor-made for blogging, I’m not so sure.
I’ve put together an initial couple of posts just to […]
Starting my electrical wiring class tonight
I’m leaving work early today, and for the next few Thursdays, so I can attend an Adult Education class in electrical wiring. It’s sponsored by the public schools district here in Louisville.
Should be interesting to see how badly I do. I’ve got that lovely useless BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M. […]
Gas jumps 20 cents in a day
This morning I filled up my gas tank on the way to work and it was $1.75/gallon. Tonight I’m driving home and I see the price has risen to $1.95/gallon. A 20 cent rise in one day.
Yikes, I should have bought a hybrid I think.
Pretty new iPods
Dammit, Apple has released a slew of new iPods to test my resolve. My resolve is to only get one gadget this year, the Sony PSP.
The new price on the big 60 GB Photo iPod is really tempting. I bet I could get a couple hundred dollars for my current 30 GB non-Photo […]
Fogerty and Urban on Crossroads
I really like the CMT show called Crossroads, they have some really brilliant pairings of country and pop starts. Tonight’s episode is John Fogarty and Keith Urban, two really talented guitar players/singers. Just amazing to hear them duet on songs that one or the other made popular.
I think though my favorite Crossroads was […]
Gracenote failed me tonight
I’ve been a user of Gracenote for some time, way back when it was plain old CDDB. Of course I’ve never used it directly–the software CD players I’ve used on various computers have all integrated with the CDDB to identify track info whenever I insert a new CD. My current favorite CD player, […]
