Picked up my Sony PSP
March 24, 2005Yes it’s kinda stupid, and normally I don’t try to be an early adopter. But I just loved the idea of everything you can do with it, so I went and bought a Sony PSP tonight on the way home. Put a photo of it up on Flickr. Sorry about the fuzziness–light was too low so the darned auto-setting on my camera was for long exposure. Can’t remember right now how to manually override that in the camera. I know there’s a way.
Anyhow, the screen on the PSP is un-friggin-believable. Bright, clean, high resolution. When I was watching the included Spider Man 2 movie, I couldn’t see any evidence of pixelation or compression or anything like that. Looked pretty damned good to me.
I have just one game so far, I want to wait until games start coming up used before I get any more. The one I sprung for was Lumines, a puzzle game. I figured I wouldn’t like most of the other launch games.
Definitely not the smartest purchase I ever made, but when I did my taxes the refund turned out to be almost enough to buy the PSP. A sign from God that it was meant for me to get one.
