The CR-V roof rack has arrived
May 20, 2005Well the CR-V roof rack that I bought off eBay has arrived. And its early–the original FedEx Ground delivery estimate was for May 24. It was waiting for me at home last night, five days ahead of schedule. Very nice.
Of course the darned FedEx guy left it on my front steps, which aren’t protected by any kind of roof or overhang. So the box was soaking wet from yesterday’s big storms by the time I got home.
Not that I feared the roof rack itself would be damaged–it better be able to take a little rain. I was more concerned that the instruction sheet might have gotten wet and rendered unreadable (i.e., all the ink runs together or something like that). But no, the outer box soaked up all the water while the inner box that held the bolts and instruction sheets was dry.
So this is my project for tomorrow–first a run to Home Depot to get the required torx wrench which I don’t have and then I’m installing this sucker on the rook of my car. Wish me luck–I’ve never been a particularly skilled mechanical person.
