State Fair is here!
August 19, 2005It’s time again for the Kentucky State Fair!
I love state fairs, though this year I probably won’t see any of the concerts. I already saw Kenny Chesney last year, the only concert I might want to see this year is Alan Jackson. But I’m not a big enough fan to spend the $40+ bucks it’ll cost to go see his show. Doesn’t mean I’m not going–I still plan on going to the fair but not for the concerts. I’m going mostly for the bad awful food and the animal displays.
Probably won’t bother eating the fried twinkie, as I had that last year. It tasted fine but it’s not one of those things you need to have again and again. It’s a one-time event. On the other hand, I will be looking for the pork chop sandwiches again, those are good.
On the animal displays,. whey had some weird chicken (and related fowl) breeds last year so I’m looking forward to seeing that. And of course the pig races are always fun.
Sunday is looking like the day to go. Saturday will be too hot–mid to upper 90’s. Not that Sunday is going to be cool, but it’s supposed to be upper 80’s instead of upper 90’s. That sounds a bit more comfortable for walking around the midway and the outdoor stuff.
