We’re a fat country

August 23, 2005

The national obesity rate is inching ever closer to 25%. Some places like right here in Kentucky have already crossed that milestone–one quarter of the adults in the Bluegrass State qualify as obese.

The definition apparently is a body-mass index over 30, and according to this calculator I’m pretty close. Definitely overweight (duh, if one-quarter the population is obese it stands to reason there’s also a large population of overweight people trying to eat our way into the obese category).

I think I’m doing plenty of strength training, it’s the cardio where I’m lacking.
