First trip to Macy’s in a long time
November 22, 2005I’ve been here in Louisville over two years, but last night was the first time I ventured into the Macy’s over at Oxmoor Center. In fact I can’t even remember the last time I shopped at Macy’s. I’m not really the target demographic for that store–I’m not white, I’m not female, I’m not upper middle class.
But, one of my current goals is to do more cooking instead of eating out so much. Partly to save money but mostly for the health benefits–doctor says I need to cut back on the fat because my triglycerides are very high.
So anyway, Macy’s has a nice little roaster pan on sale this week. Not really big enough for a large turkey but perfect size for a chicken. Maybe a small turkey would fit. Anyway, it’s something I figured I’d go pick one up so I can do some roasting at home.
Now of course I have to stop by Kroger’s to pick up a chicken for roasting. That’s the part I really dread–I’m betting the grocery stores are going to be packed the next few days with folks stocking up for their Thanksgiving meals. Maybe I’ll hold off on trying my roaster until after Thanksgiving.
