Somebody stole my Christmas lights

December 20, 2005

I got home tonight and saw that somebody had stolen the Christmas lights from my front yard. Not all the lights–the wreath on my door is still there. But I had this string of lights where each looked like a giant Christmas tree light, I had planted along the walkway to my front door. They were cool, and pretty cheap–$20 for the two strings I was using.

So it’s not a major theft, definitely just a petty crime. But very surprising–this seems like a nice safe middle-class neighborhood. Apparently not though.

Gonna have to call the police and report it tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll never recover those lights, but it’s worth reporting so that there’s a record just in case.
