Billion-dollar cruise ship

February 6, 2006

Holy crap, Royal Carribbean has put in an order for a billion-dollar cruise ship. The most expensive commercial vessel ever ordered.

The thing sounds way too massive though–over 5,000 passengers. That’s too many people on one boat, it’s not going to be fun when it’s that crowded. And the debarkation process is going to take all day long.

I think maybe we’ve finally reached the upper limit for cruise ships. They can’t possibly get any bigger than this behemoth, can they?
