Itching for a Spring cleaning
February 12, 2006I don’t know if I’ve written about this yet, but I’m thinking about moving later this year. Not out of Louisville, but closer–I’m getting tired of living in suburbia. There’s some condos they’re building right next to the University, which would put me much closer to downtown and walking distance to restaurants, a Krogers, and a park with basketball and tennis courts. Much nicer than living in dull resedential suburbia, where you can’t get anywhere on foot you have to drive.
So anyway, if I move I’d be downsizing into a smaller place so I’m going to have to do get rid of some stuff. It’s not like I’m filling the house as it is but I should not move crap that I don’t intend to use. Stuff I should have thrown out before the move from San Francisco.
That’s why I’m itching for warmer weather, to make it easier to do a bit of this downsizing via Spring cleaning. Easier to lay stuff out in the garage into the “keep”, “donate”, and “throw away” piles.
I was just in the basement this afternoon and there’s definitely boxes I can throw out. Like I came across a box of sporting goods I’m never going to use again–an old karate uniform and some Rollerblades I’d bought back when I thought I should learn how to Rollerblade down the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Should have never moved that box with me to Louisville in the first place, I’m not going to move it again.
There, I feel better already. Spring cleaning has begun!
