Ask Jeeves retiring this month
February 22, 2006Apparently Jeeves the Butler is finally going to be retired sometime this month. It probably is the right move. A “human” brand makes sense for Marth Stewart Omnimedia but not really for a search engine site. Not when they’re competing against corporate brands, like Google.com and MSN.com.
Still, it’s a bit sad to see the end of one of the remaining pre-bubble Internet icons. We’ll miss you, Jeeves. Enjoy the time off.
