Claritin = price-gouging?

March 13, 2006

Like I mentioned on Saturday, I had a Target coupon for $2 off on a package of Claritin. So yesterday I went over to the Target in my neighborhood to pick up a box.

However, turns out even when you factor in the coupon the price on Claritin is over twice what the Target generic version costs. To me that’s price-gouging. No way the same drug should be that much more expensive just because it’s got the fancy ad campaign and packaging.

Needless to say it was the generic that I bought, not the Claritin brand. And so far at least it’s working fine.
