My new (Xbox) addiction
March 22, 2006Yesterday I bought an old Xbox that Bryan was selling. I’ve been contemplating the move for a while. In fact a couple months ago I bought a couple Xbox games when they were on sale, on the expectation that I’d probably find a used Xbox. But now I think it was all a horrible mistake, because I may be hooked.
I wired it up to the TV in my bedroom and popped in Top Spin. Now a while back I bought the PS2 version because I’d heard so much about this game for the Xbox. Turns out the PS2 port is horrifically bad. But now it’s even worse because I realize what a great game the Xbox version is.
I spent two hours last night building up my character, and the time just flew by. The game rewards you with a very satisfying visual jetstream effect when you manage to time a really good forehand or backhand. And the graphics are so superior to the PS2 version. I’m definitely going to waste a lot of time playing this Xbox.
Sigh. I really don’t need a big time-killer like this in my life. I mean, I haven’t even done my taxes yet.
