First day orientation
March 28, 2006So yesterday was my first day at Humana. What they do is have an all-day “on-boarding” session where you learn a bit about how to select benefits (401K, medical, etc.) and a bit about the culture. There was about 25 of us in this particular session, though they said that some Mondays they’ve been on-boarding over 100 people.
It was a really good session, great to meet a few new people from other departments and great to learn about how the company works. Today the real work begins, my first “real” day on the job. Though I figure most of it will be spent just figuring out where everything is, like the bathroom and the microwave oven. Oh, and I want to find the health club to take a look and decide if I want to sign up and drop my YMCA membership.
