I agree with Paul, all cardio will reduce your muscle. Check out FitLife (http://fitlife.biz/) personal trainers.

I dropped by there the other day and talked to them. I'm wanting to learn how to eat right (they have certified dietitians on staff), lose weight and tone up. They develop a strength training plan for you as well as a meal plan. Its worth looking into if you are interested in those types of things.

Whole Foods isn't all bad. Its the only place in town I've found good papaya and mangos :)

There is no way I can shop at Whole Foods. Reminds me too much of the hippy/free-love culture I left behind when I moved from San Francisco.

OK. As long as you realize that fried potatoes are a fasco-corporate conspiracy designed to subjugate us. You don't think these new cars that run on spent french-fry oil are a coincidence do you?

I vote for Golden Corral!

You have to have some motivation to get through those last few miles on Sundays, and Whole Foods wouldn't do it for me.

I'm reminded of the wonderful words from the dad in Breaking Away:

"What is this?" says the dad.

"It's sauteed zucchini," answers the loving wife.

"It's I-tey food. I don't want no I-tey food."

"It's not. I got it at the A&P. It's like ... squash."

"I know I-tey food when I hear it! It's all them 'eenie' foods ... zuchini ... and linguini ... and fettucine. I want some American food, dammit" I want French fries!"

This is just a lyperson's thought and you should avoid taking advice from me, but... Are you doing any strength training or weight-bearing exercise with your marathon training. Cause I think it's true that running alone doesn't really help reduce that much weight--especially after a plateau. In fact, I'm pretty sure it can tear up your muscles, and if you don't allow proper recovery, you end up worse off. All that and the being hungry thing. Of course, just cause your hungry doesn't mean you have to eat crappy stuff. You can fill up on good food that makes you stronger and run better. Why not binge at Whole Foods instead of Golden Corral? After all--there's a higher ratio of cute hippy chicks in sarongs and tank tops there. Anyway--are you lifting weights on your cross training days--cause maybe it'd help you build tone to burn the increased calories you're taking in.
