I’m just 2 degrees of separation from Barack Obama
September 14, 2006Senator Barack Obama, currently the only African-American serving in the US Senate, is speaking here in Louisville tonight. Then he heads to a fundraiser being held by Matthew Barzun, who used to run TechRepublic. I also worked with Matthew way back in the early Chestnut Street days of CNET (which owns TechRepublic).
This means I’m just 2 degrees of separation from Barack Obama–I know Matthew Barzun, and Matthew knows Senator Obama. Not that this information does me any good, as I am definitely not on the invite list for the fundraiser and even if I was I probably could not afford whatever the minimum donation is to get in. I do not run in that socio-economic circle.
So what the hell good is my 2 degrees of separation? It’s pretty damned useless as far as I can tell.
