And Arnold wins too
November 8, 2006The Governator won re-election in California. By an incredible margin, considering how liberal California is. Remember that John Kerry won California easily in the 2004 presidential race.
I voted for Arnold during the special election back in 2003, one of my last acts as a Californian before moving here to Kentucky. In fact I had to vote absentee since I was going to be in Kentucky on election day. But since my condo was not sold at the time, I was still technically a resident of California so I went ahead and did the absentee thing.
Mostly I voted for him because Gray Davis, then the Democratic incumbent, was an idiot. The man was woefully ineffective, and had no good ideas on how to get California out of what was then a serious cash crunch that could have crippled the economy.
Turns out Arnold has done wonders for California. I think he really has reinvigorated that state, and obviously Californians must agree because they gave him a wide margin of victory in a state that sometimes makes Massachusetts seem conservative.
If the Constitution would only allow it, I’d seriously consider voting for Arnold as president in 2008. He’d be way better than the current Republican and Democratic front runners like McCain and Hillary.

Changing the laws opens the door for another Governor born abroad: Jennifer Granholm of MI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jennifer_Granholm.
So let’s do it.
We can put her up against Arnold and see how things fall out.
No, let’s not do it. Also, McCain is not a Democrat.
I know my wording was clumsy but it does not say McCain is a Democrat. It says that he is one of the “Republican and Democratic front runners”.
