A Sunday with nowhere to run
November 12, 2006Today was the first Sunday in months that I have not had a long run scheduled in the morning. It was so weird to be able to just sleep in this morning, rather than having to force myself out of bed and into the running clothes.
I was able to put the extra free time to good use, read a couple chapters in the textbook for my database class. I’ve fallen a bit behind in the reading so it’s nice to have some free time to catch up. It’s tough though because I spend most of my work week logged into four or five different databases. Reading a database textbook and doing database homework on the weekend makes it feel like my whole week is consumed by databases. It’s getting kinda old, I’m looking forward to this class ending in a few weeks.
I was also able to work on the closet in my spare bedroom. I’ve installed closet systems in both the master bedroom and the bedroom that doubles as my office. But the spare bedroom I had left the closet alone. Now the old shelf and clothes pole are gone, and I’ve prepped the walls so they’re ready to be repainted. Hopefully the spackle will be dry enough tonight that I can put on the fresh paint.
Then tomorrow I’ll install the closet system, it’s a nice one from Rubbermaid that I got really cheap at Wal-Mart a couple months ago. Apparently this model did not do well, I think because the installation process is kinda complicated. But I’ve read thru the instructions and I think I can have it done in an evening. Once the paint is dry of course.
