Off to Sin City

December 22, 2006

Tomorrow I leave for Christmas in Vegas.  Got the timeshare reserved for a full week in Sin City.  And I’ve got a car this time, the first time ever that I’ve had a car.

Mostly the car is because Mom’s getting too old to walk.  So I’ll be driving her (and any other relatives who show up) around town in the little Chevy Cobalt.  At least that’s what Avis claims to have reserved for me.

But the nice thing about having a car is that we’ll be able to go beyond the Strip.  I’m thinking a side-trip out to Red Rock could be cool.

And of course having a car means I’ll be able to visit the In-n-Out Burger.  One of the few things I miss about living in San Francisco is being able to eat at In-n-Out.  Best fast-food burger and fries on the planet.

We’re also planning to see Cirque du Soleil show based on the songs of the Beatles.  That’s actually the only show we’re planning on this trip.  After the disappointments of the last couples shows the family doesn’t want to risk too much on the entertainment.  Both Barry Manilow and Elton John were bad shows, not worth the money.  But Cirque shows are generally good, we all liked Mystere and O.  So this Beatles show ought to be good.
