Oracle portal sucks

January 24, 2007

I was fighting with Oracle Portal today, and in a moment of frustration I thought I’d check to see if anybody owned oracleportalsucks.com.  Turns out nobody owned it so I snatched it up and slapped together a little site to take out my frustrations.

It’s amazing how easy it is nowadays to put up a quickie Web site.  Registering an url, hosting it on an account, setting up a database, installing bulletin-board software, all of that I got done with maybe an hour’s worth of work total.  Not all at once–after buying the domain I had to wait a few hours for whatever mojo they use at GoDaddy to auto-configure the name servers and the MySql database.  Once that was running I spent another fifteen or twenty minutes tweaking the bbpress templates and uploading them to my site.

Now I need to see if I can drive a bit of traffic to the site and see what happens.
