AOL under the tender mercies of Ted Cahall

January 25, 2007

Ah those poor suckers at AOL–they’re about to feel the full force of Ted Cahall’s famous temper.  He’s apparently been hired as the EVP of platforms, I’m guessing the job interviews did not cover his anger management issues.

It always amazes me that folks with serious deficits in their social skills somehow manage to climb the corporate ladder.  Though I guess this isn’t really a step up for him, it’s more of a lateral in some ways.  He was CIO at CNET and later COO at Classmates.com.  Yes he’s now working at a bigger company, but he’s also now further away from the CEO role than he was at CNET and Classmates.com.

I wonder how his tenure at Classmates.com went?  I’m going to poke around and try to find out.

Rex sounds like he is jealous.

You could be right. But I’m willing to bet if you talk to other former Ted employees you’d get negative feedback from the majority of them.
