Political candidates in HD?
March 20, 2007Do we really want to see our political candidates in HD? I saw that NBC News plans to launch the HD broadcast of their Nightly News next week. And the story mentions that NBC plans to also broadcast much of their political coverage in HD, including the upcoming Democratic debate in South Carolina next month.
I don’t know if I’m ready to see those people in HD. Does the world really need to see Hillary and Barack in HD? Maybe pretty-boy John Edwards but not the other candidates.

Did you hear Wisconsin’s Tommy Thompson might run? Now, that’s somebody I sure don’t want to see in HD: Good ole Governor Jowls. No thanks!
On the bright side, if Thompson does run he won’t last in the race. No way can he raise the kind of money the others can, without money his message will never get out in the big primaries like California.
So at least we won’t have to see him in HD for very long.
