Dad returns from war and surprises his little boy
March 30, 2007If you haven’t seen this video yet, you should–a sailor returns from a long stint in Iraq and surprises his six-year old son at school. Apparently Mom and the teacher knew but the little boy did not know his Dad was coming home from the war. They wanted to surprise him at school.
When you see the little boy run to his Dad, and start bawling so hard, it just tears your heart. If you’re not crying after you watch the video, you must not have any kind of soul. Such a pure expression of love.
How many other little six-year-old kids are missing their Dads because of this senseless war? And what about the thousands of families that have been torn apart permanently because of the 3,000-plus casualties so far?
The irony of course is that none of the people who made this decision have a stake in the war like that little six-year-old kid does. Bush doesn’t have any of his family at war, nor does Condoleeza Rice, nor did Don Rumsfeld. I wonder if they will watch this video and think about the sacrifices others have made for their folly?
