Kentucky is a red state on the obesity scale as well

July 24, 2007

Kentucky’s fairly conservative, Louisville notwithstanding.  On the political maps this means it’s a red state.  Turns out CNN also used red to indicate the states with the highest obesity rates.  So when you view their obesity map and click on the most recent year, 2004.  Kentucky is a nice bright shade of red.

Doesn’t really surprise me.  I know a lot of people around here, including myself, who are close to if not over the threshold for obesity.  At my height I should be around 160 but this morning I was 185.  That gives me a BMI of just over 27, pretty close to 30 which is the official definition of obesity.
