Finally, an online version of Quicken coming soon
August 14, 2007I’m surprised it took them so long to do this, but apparently Intuit is nearing the beta test for the online version of Quicken. I for one cannot wait, and wish they’d done it sooner.
I actually use Moneydance right now, mostly because my laptop is dual-boot Windows and Ubuntu Linux. See Moneydance is written in Java so I can run it from both operating systems, pointed to one set of account files. So no matter which OS I happen to be booted into, I’m able to update my accounts and do online bill-paying.
Thing is, I would love to be able to do this stuff even without the laptop. Like from work or a friend’s house. Or from a Web-enabled phone. An online program would fit the bill quite nicely.
I’m hoping they do a good job with this. And I hope they don’t charge a premium over the boxed software.
