Time, Inc. finally pulling the plug on Business 2.0

September 5, 2007

A couple months ago it had looked like Time, Inc. was going to shutter Business 2.0. But the magazine got a reprieve of sorts when apparently the publishers of rival Fast Company made an offer on the magazine.  Things got serious enough that Time decided to print one more edition of the magazine.  That must have made for an interesting scramble, everybody had thought September was the last issue then had to scramble to assemble an October issue.

Now though it seems after evaluating the offer, Time has decided it would be better to shut down the magazine rather than sell it.  Apparently they didn’t want to give a direct competitor access to the brand, content, and subscriber list they’d built.

So unless something bizarre happens, October really will be the last issue for Business 2.0.
