Stan Lee is running for Attorney General!
November 6, 2007Okay, it’s not the Stan Lee, famed for creating SpiderMan among other comic book characters. But there’s a guy running for Kentucky Attorney General named Stan Lee.
He sure didn’t campaign very much, or at least he didn’t spend money on the media that I watch. Because I hadn’t even heard of him until last week when I drove past a yard sign imploring me to vote for him.
Perhaps if he had played up the similarity in his name to the famous Stan Lee I would have heard more about him. Still, not even my fondness for Stan Lee the comic book creator would make me want to vote for Stan Lee the right-wing candidate for Kentucky AG.
On the other hand I’m not terribly fond of Jack Conway, the Democratic candidate, either. He’s too much of a pretty-boy candidate. I know it’s not fair but it makes me think perhaps he’s an intellectual lightweight. You know the stereotype — pretty people can get by without having to exert mental energy to advance in their careers.
In the end I’m probably going to punt on the AG race and just leave it blank.
